The Water Cooler Company is pleased to announce that it has successfully passed its 2010 EPDWA audit – allowing us to offer all our clients EPDWA approved installation and servicing of water coolers. The EPDWA is a self regulating industry body that serves to provide end users with a certified list of suppliers across the UK. In their own words -

“We can help you find responsible and reliable companies to install and maintain high quality drinking water systems. For further information about our members products and services, use the green panel on the right to start searching our database of members.”

The Water Cooler Company and the EPDWA

March 20th, 2009

The EPDWA was formed with the aims of promoting, developing and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety and ethics within the European Point-Of-Use Drinking Water industry, to the benefit of customers.

“Point of use” is a term used solely within the water cooler industry for bottleless water coolers. It is of little use as a term to the general public and has been almost completely eclipsed with the term bottleless water cooler.

The EPDWA is an excellent organisation that The Water Cooler Company is proud to be a member of. Alongside our sister company, The Water Delivery Company we are audited annually to ensure that our products and service methods meet the highest standards. The role of the BWCA in the water cooler industry

February 5th, 2009

bwca-logo-british-water-cooler-assocationThe Water Cooler Company believes that it is important for our customers to understand the industry in which we work – in order for them to make an informed decision on which water cooler company to choose. These industry bodies work hard to ensure that members adhere to certain principles and methods outside the governmental regulatory framework and are also  important voices who speak for the industry in times of crisis.

The description that they give on their website is given below -

“The Bottled Water Cooler Association (BWCA) was established in 1989 to represent the interests of the bottled water cooler industry in the UK. A recent change of name to the BRITISH Water Cooler Association reflects the extended remit of the Association to encompass bottleless water coolers.”

We are not members of the BWCA - The British Water Cooler Association – as their focus is towards the bottled side of our industry – rather prefering to work with the industry body known as the EPDWA. We strongly recommend that potential customers ensure that their water cooler supplier is a member of the EPDWA or the BWCA – it ensures that the supplier adheres to certain principles above the basic governmental framework.
