Thinking of renting a bottleless water cooler?

March 21st, 2010

If you are looking to rent a bottleless water cooler, get in contact with us here at The Water Cooler Company and we will find the right cooler for you. The Water Cooler Company provides mains fed water coolers (also known as bottleless water coolers) primarily for the office environment, but also for private homes, schools and public places.

People often opt for a bottleless water cooler if they do not want to keep calling up for the bottles to be delivered and having to wait for more water if they don’t call in time to have the new bottles delivered. Some companies use them alongside normal bottled water coolers or as a straight replacement.

The range of bottleless water coolers we have here at The Water Cooler Company are available for rental from as little as £5 per week (fully inclusive) for a single cooler. Discounts may apply for multiple coolers dependent on contract length.

To rent one of our bottleless water coolers you will need to have access to a potable mains water supply nearby and an electricity point within three metres of your proposed water cooler site as it is connected directly to the mains water supply with discrete food grade flexible tubing. The water is then taken through a carbon based filter system which removes 99.99% of impurities from the water, and finally is chilled or heated in the water cooler and used in a normal way.

We offer customers a free site survey to determine the best location for your cooler and once that has been completed and you have decided to go ahead, we will have one of our installation engineers come out to to install your cooler. There will be a filter change and sanitisation every six months by one of our engineers as well so there’s no need to worry about anything once you’ve put us in charge of your water cooler.

If you would like any further information, please call us on 0845 500 4455 or email contact@thewatercoolercompany.com

Scots Councils Bottled Water Expenditure Revealed

July 27th, 2009

north-lanarkshire-council-drinking-water

In the news this week, we came across this drinking water related story regarding Scottish local councils expenditure on bottled water.

Following a Freedom of Information request to all 32 of Scotland’s local councils, it was made public that across Scotland, a total of £2, 835,600 was spent on council buildings and official council functions for water coolers, bottled water and diluting juice over the last three years, with significant expedniture going towards bottled water.

North Lanarkshire council alone managed to  spend a whopping £592,179, making it one of the worst offendors. News of the expenditure has led to calls for councils to reduce their spend on bottled water and switch to using more tap water.  Nanette Milne MSP, the Conservative Party’s Environment minister; responded to the news by labelling the expenditure on free access drinking water in schools and public places an “obvious area to cut back on”.

The overall figure of expenditure could be even higher, since 12 of the councils asked failed to produce information regarding their expenditure on drinking water.

An option Scottish councils may not have considered would be to use a plumbed in, mains fed water cooler which can be purchased from plumbed in water cooler specialists The Water Cooler Company, and provides an office or public building with filtered, chilled drinking water direct from the building’s water mains, and can save on the cost of buying bottled drinking water.

The Water Cooler Company can deliver and install plumbed in water coolers to addresses throughout the UK.

Mains fed Water Coolers – A Brief Outline

June 13th, 2009

mainsfed-coolerMains fed water coolers are what the water cooler company are best known for, yet it’s surprising how many of you haven’t come accross the term “mains- fed” before, perhaps being more used to referring to the water coolers without a bottle as “plumbed in” or “bottleless”. Mains-fed water coolers are no different to plumbed in, or bottleless water coolers, but they are distinct from bottleless coolers which are tank- fed. Mains-fed coolers can only be installed where the plumbing allows (which is is the vast majority of buildings), and they filter and chill the water directly from your mains supply already present in your building either from pipes under the kitchen sink or from other fixes. The water is then chilled or heated in the water cooler and used in the standard way.

Discrete food grade flexible tubing is used in the process which means that the cooler can be positioned many metres from the mains water without the need for any additional plumbing. The water is then taken through a carbon based filter system which removes 99.99% of impurities from the water.

Mains fed water coolers are advantageous in comparison to bottled water coolers and plain bottled water, because they often prove to be much cheaper. They are also more hygienic as they are regularly maintained and sanitised, and on top of that , they present a much more ethical way of supplying your staff and/or family with unlimited, free flowing, drinking water. So there you have it.

To buy or rent a mains-fed water cooler from the water cooler company simply go to the purchase page on this site.

Thought of the week!
Water to Wine

A Lutheran minister is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding in Connecticut.
The state trooper smells alcohol on the minister’s breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car. He says, “Sir, have you been drinking?”
“Just water,” says the minister.
The trooper says, “Then why do I smell wine?”
The minister looks at the bottle and says, “Good Lord! He’s done it again!”

Speaking of Water to Wine, why not take a look at our new sister company the Vinturi?
The amazing new technology doesn’t quite turn Water into wine, but we’re working on it!
It does however, Aerate Red wine to give it an Enhanced and enjoyable flavour!
